Information You Submit
When you enter a name, phone number, or address in a search form, that entry goes to the third-party provider that supplies the results. We do not keep a copy of your searches on our own servers. If you contact us, we receive whatever you choose to include in your message and use it only to respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting systems create ordinary server logs that can include an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. We use this data in aggregate to keep the site working and to understand which pages help visitors. We may use cookies or similar technologies for basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How We Use Information
The limited information described above helps us run the site, diagnose errors, measure visits, and improve content. We do not sell a list of our visitors. We do not build profiles of individual users.
Privacy on Linked Websites
Links may lead to Sonoma County and California government portals, records offices, library collections, and third-party search tools. Information entered on a linked service falls under that service's privacy policy rather than ours. This is especially true of the sponsored search results on this site, which are provided by a third-party company.
Who Might See Your Data
Service providers that host and support this site process server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We will disclose data if a valid legal process requires it. We do not otherwise share visitor data.
How We Safeguard Data
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Server logs are retained only for as long as the purposes stated above require. Because we do not run accounts, there is no password or profile of yours to breach on this site.
Users Under 18
This site is not directed at children and is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your California Privacy Rights
California residents may have rights to know, correct, or delete personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Civil Code ยง 1798.100 et seq. Because we retain very little, a request will generally involve our contact mailbox and server logs. Submit a request through the Contact page. Public records held by Sonoma County, the Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor, Sonoma Superior Court, or another California agency are outside our control, so requests concerning those records must go to the custodian.
Commercial data brokers are separate from government record custodians and from this site. The California Privacy Protection Agency maintains the Data Broker Registry. California's DROP program, created under the DELETE Act, began accepting one deletion request to active registered data brokers on January 1, 2026; brokers are scheduled to begin processing those requests on August 1, 2026.
Changes to This Policy
Any revised policy will be published here. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
